2012 Moderators Concert a Success!

MODERATORS LOGO

April 20 was a glowing evening of dancing, celebration and friendship as 300 guests gathered for Project Hope’s 2nd Annual Moderators Benefit Concert. Once again, we were amazed by the community’s overwhelming response to this popular event to raise money for Tumaini. According to Board Member Scott Fisher, This year’s concert was Out of the Park!”

The Quincy Ave. Rhythm Band (Kent Denver) opened with a lively set, followed by the ever-popular Moderators who finished with not 1, not 2, but 3 encores!

Co-chairs & Project Hope founders Scott & Janice Fisher and Helen Young Hayes joined with co-chair Dale Terry to lead our wonderful volunteer planning Committee. Special thanks goes to Logistics Chair Jill Metzler; Sponsorship Chair & longtime Tumaini supporter Helen Young Hayes; Marketing Chair Anna Z; and Student Volunteer Coordinator Susan Stahl. Coupled with generous contributions from our Major Sponsors, underwriting & ticket sales, Project Hope raised nearly $50,000 in net proceeds from the event!

We are truly grateful for all those who helped make this event a success. We could never have achieved such an accomplishment without everyone’s support, hard work, and dedication to help Tumaini’s children!

Project Hope is a Colorado non-profit organization whose purpose is to raise funds for Tumaini. Please visit www.projecthope4thechildren.org for more details.

HOPE aBOUNDS: COLORADO GIVES DAY

Friends of Tumaini rallied to support our first Colorado Gives Day. We raised $27,415 which was matched by our $25,000 challenge grant for a total of $52,415! According to one long-time supporter, “This is such an amazing [matching] program that I wanted to take advantage of it. I’m glad others had the same idea.”

The campaign’s overwhelming web traffic didn’t deter givers. One donor in particular showed tremendous determination. His non-profit dental practice provides discounted services to underprivileged children, then collects donations to send to children in even greater need (such as Tumaini). His tenacity paid off: his gift was our 11th-hour contribution at noon on Wednesday!

The above-and-beyond generosity in this campaign is an inspiration — a testament to your commitment to providing Hope to orphans. Thank you for your support!
