Executive Sabbatical: Starting February 1, 2012, Eunice Kariuki, beloved Executive Director of Tumaini, will be on a sabbatical in Colorado. During this period, Eunice will advance her professional education, receive spiritual direction, and rejuvenate. This long overdue sabbatical is in alignment with non-profit ministry.

 Our most important focus is the continued care of our Tumaini children. For that reason, long-term supporters Jim and Carolyn Cessna are committed to providing guidance and support while they live at the Shamba. Jim and Carolyn, close friends of Eunice and Tumaini, will arrive in Kenya in mid-January and remain until sometime in December 2012. Having served as life-long educators, missionaries in Nigeria, and pastoral leaders, they are uniquely qualified to stand in her stead; the board senses the Lord’s sovereign involvement.   — The Tumaini Board of Directors, November 2011
